Line Your Eyes

You’re finally done with your eyeshadow, but something’s missing. What could it be?

Eyeliner.

Eyeliner is a line covering the top of your eyelashes. It can end at the outer corner of your eye or with a flick create a wing. There are many looks you can do. You can have a snake or flames as a winged eyeliner.

Eyeliner can come in different forms. Pencil, gel, marker or liquid.

Pencil is great for tight lining. This technique is used to fill in the empty spaces by the roots of your lashes. Great for beginners as liquid and other eyeliners can be tricky to start out with. The only con for using pencil eyeliner, if you want to have a wing, the pencil won’t be as much help. This is because usually the pencil is not sharp enough to create a clean wing.

Marker eyeliner is easy as well but it can be less pigmented than liquid or pencil eyeliner. Markers have a pointed tip and the shape it comes in, helps to create any design you’d like.

Gel eyeliner is easy to use because it needs a brush to apply. You can apply it to the lash line with less effort. It has more pigment than the marker but it is harder to fix when you mess up.

Liquid liner is one of my favorites, mostly because I’ve mastered how the infamous and popular winged eyeliner with one flick. This is the eyeliner that is difficult to learn simply because liquid is hard to control and the brush it comes with can be messy. The brush is loose and not sturdy enough to create a seamless line but it’s the perfect product to apply eyeliner.

One of my personal favorite liquid eyeliner is the NYX Matte Liquid Liner. Once it sets, the eyeliner becomes matte and won’t easily smudge.  Eyeliner is fun to use and can tie your look together. It will just takes lots and lots of practice.
