Is it regular water or a water that promotes itself as having magical powers?

Micellar water is purified water with other ingredients such as glycerin. The purpose of micellar water is to get rid of dirt and oil from the face. After a long day with a full face of makeup, you can use micellar water to wipe off your makeup before your skin care routine.

It can be used during anytime of day. Use a cotton pad or cotton ball and pad on the micellar water onto your skin. No need to rinse after, you can leave the micellar onto your skin.

It’s great for sensitive skin, but also to the rest of the skin types. It’s not harsh as many cleansers or makeup removers. Its sole purpose is to remove all the grime that may be clogging your pores.

There’s not only one type of micellar water, but Garnier has a micellar water aimed for oily skin. The SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Mattifying is for oily skin but still works the same as the original product. As many oily skin types know, there are tons and tons of products we can’t use because it may leave the skin feeling more oily than normal.

You might be asking if it’ll remove the hardest product you can apply to your face: waterproof products? Well, there are micellar waters that target those specific problems. Waterproof mascara and other products, such as matte lipsticks, are difficult to remove and even harder to remove the stain it leaves. Garnier has a SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover that removes dirt as well as easily removes the waterproof makeup.

Not only does micellar water help to remove dirt, when doing your makeup and end up messing up you can use the water as well. The micellar water is almost a makeup corrector if you’ve ever messed up while doing your eyeliner or lipstick. Using a Q-tip, you can gently wipe off the mistake you’ve done.

The micellar water helps to cleanse the face but it helps cleanse all types of skin, including the sensitive type. For those who don’t like using cotton balls or pads, there are alternatives to having the micellar water.

You can purchase Burt’s Bees Micellar Water towelettes. These work the same way as the liquid form and can be easily used with your hand. Micellar water is best to use either way, it all depends on your personal preference and skin type.
