Pop of Liner

Eyeliner is a peculiar favorite among artists. A swipe of a line across the lids that many people love. There is the famous Amy Winehouse liner: thick line and wing. A smokey eyeliner, use of a dark eyeshadow to create a faux line across the lids.

Eyeliner can be fun but now the question is if color eyeliner is fun?

There are many techniques but the most common colors used are black and brown. But now, there are various colors: blue, pink, orange or white! Not only that but glitter as well.

There have been many creations found on Instagram, Twitter and other major social apps. People have added liner to the top of their crease. Plus, there’s no need to only have a line on your eye because you can create a dotted eyeliner for a fun look.

During the holidays, people have gotten created like having a Christmas candy cane eyeliner. A look with alternating lines of red and white is made to achieve the look of having a candy cane eye. You can go the extra mile and carefully draw a mistletoe as well. Other makeup artists post other looks on Instagram, like a Christmas tree eyeliner for the holidays as well as an elf-on-the-shelf.

For those who want a simple look but have a pop of color, you can always try a double winged eyeliner. This look uses a regular black eyeliner and adding a layer of any color eyeliner on top following the same shape you desire. An affordable color eyeliner can be purchased at Ulta or Walgreens and it would be the NYX  Vivid Brights Eyeliner. The colors are super vibrant that nobody will miss, the “Vivid Sapphire” is my personal favorite that compliments my brown eyes. You can also add color eyeliner on your crease connecting to your cat eye, almost outlining the shape of your whole eye, just how celebrity makeup artist  Kara Yoshimoto Bua did with Bryce Dallas Howard. Another look can be a cat liner covering your whole lid with a single color. A great example of this look can be found on Teisha J’s Instagram at teishajenaie. A great use of the color pink, something that can be worn anytime and any season for a bold look. Eyeliner is versatile, any look can be created and adapted to your preference. No rules whatsoever, have fun with it.
